Celebrate Black History Month 2021 in Flint with art exhibits, movies and virtual events
FLINT, MI — Celebrating Black History Month may look and feel a lot different this year amid the coronavirus pandemic.
But there are still ways you can celebrate the culture in Flint.
Here are the events planned throughout February to honor and celebrate Black history:
-Genesee District Library
20th Anniversary Black History Celebration
The Genesee District Library and ABC12 have partnered for a virtual 20th Anniversary Black History Celebration set to air 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11.
The 60-minute segment can be watched here.
The show will include music from the a cappella group, Linkin’ Bridge, who performed at the brunch in 2018 and were finalists in season 11 of the NBC reality competition show “America’s Got Talent.”
Voices of Service, finalists in season 14 of “America’s Got Talent” will also perform, and Dr. Traci Currie, who presented at the 2016 Brunch, will share a powerful poem.
